National Book Awards Online Entry Forms Due TODAY 

 

2013 NBA Entry Form

Publishers who wish to submit books for the 2013 National Book Awards must complete the online entry form by the end of the day today. The form will close at 12:00 am Pacific Time (3:00 am Eastern Time) on Tuesday, June 4. No late entry forms will be accepted. Click here to access the guidelines and entry form on our website.


 

BookUpNYC Students Celebrate a Great Year at La Casa Azul Bookstore

 

On May 11, BookUp students and instructors from all five New York City sites gathered at La Casa Azul Bookstore in East Harlem for the second annual BookUpNYC end-of-year party. Students read from their favorite books as well as their own work, printed in books made using the Espresso Book Machine; purchased books; had a pizza lunch; and enjoyed the beautiful space and courtyard of La Casa Azul. Click here to see photos from the event and the covers of the students' Espresso books.


 

The Uni Project Launches Reading Room on Governor's Island

This past weekend, 2013 Innovations in Reading Prize winner The Uni Project launched a new portable reading room on Governor's Island in New York City. The new Uni will be jointly run by all three public library systems: Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library, and Queens Library.
