Faith Salie to Host 63rd National Book Awards

 

We're pleased to announce that television and radio host, political and pop culture commentator, journalist, and actor Faith Salie will host the 63rd National Book Awards Ceremony and Benefit Dinner on Wednesday, November 14. The event will take place at Cipriani, Wall Street in New York City, and will also be streamed live on our website. 


 

Elmore Leonard and Arthur O. Sulzberger, Jr. to Receive 2012 Lifetime Achievement Awards

 

The National Book Foundation will bestow its Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters (DCAL) on novelist Elmore Leonard, and its Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community on New York Times chairman and publisher Arthur O. Sulzberger, Jr. Leonard and Sulzberger will both be honored at the 2012 National Book Awards on November 14.


 

Neko Case to Host 5 Under 35, Thomas Sayers Ellis to DJ, Anya Ulinich to Moderate

 

Each year, we kick off National Book Awards Week with 5 Under 35, a celebration of emerging fiction writers selected by past NBA Winners and Finalists. This year, singer, songwriter, and producer Neko Case will host our seventh annual 5 Under 35 event on Monday, November 12. Poet and photographer Thomas Sayers Ellis, who was an NBA Poetry Judge in 2011, will DJ the event. Past 5 Under 35 honoree Anya Ulinich will moderate a conversation between the five young authors, who will be announced on Thursday, September 27.
